This article explains why IOSS numbers do not appear visibly on shipping labels or customs documentation.

IOSS numbers — whether a marketplace's IOSS number or your own — are submitted to couriers electronically and are not printed on postage labels, CN22s, or CN23 customs documents.

For Royal Mail labels, when an order is subject to IOSS, a symbol is printed on the address label to indicate that the IOSS number has been passed electronically:

If your Royal Mail shipping label shows this symbol, the IOSS number has been transmitted correctly.
