Overview

This article explains how to change the shipping method on an order that has already been Pre-Generated, Pre-Despatched, or Despatched in StoreFeeder, and how to cancel a consignment when needed.

Before you begin

The Change Shipping Method button is only visible if the order is in a post-label-generated status and has not yet been manifested.

Scenario 1: Change the shipping method and generate a new label

Use this scenario when you need to re-despatch an order using stock you already have to hand.

  1. Navigate to Manage Orders in StoreFeeder, locate the order, and select Edit by hovering over the order number.
  2. Select the Change Shipping Method button next to the shipping method field. A popup message explains what will happen next. To cancel without making changes, select the x and leave the edit order page.
  1. Select the new shipping method from the dropdown and save the order. StoreFeeder automatically cancels the existing consignment with the current courier (where needed) and contacts the new courier to generate a new label.

If label generation succeeds, the order continues as normal. If it fails, you will see an error message on the order and the order is returned to a pre-label-generated status so you can retry.

Scenario 2: Delete a consignment without re-despatching

Use this scenario when you are not processing the order right now and the stock needs to go back to the warehouse.

  1. Navigate to Manage Orders, locate the order, and select Edit.
  2. Select the Delete Consignment button. Confirm the action in the popup.
  3. The order returns to an unallocated status. The stock is released back to the warehouse.

Troubleshooting

If a new label fails to generate after changing the shipping method, check the error message displayed on the order. Common causes include the new courier rejecting the service code or an invalid address. Correct the issue and save the order again to retry label generation.
