Overview

This article explains the Import One-Stop Shop (IOSS), how it works with StoreFeeder, and how to configure your account if you collect EU VAT on your own website.

What is IOSS?

The Import One-Stop Shop (IOSS) is an EU electronic portal for businesses selling imported goods to EU customers. Since 1 July 2021, it allows sellers to declare and pay VAT on distance sales of imported goods in a single place.

Marketplace channels

For marketplace channels such as Amazon, eBay, and Etsy, IOSS is handled automatically. The marketplace collects EU VAT on your behalf and passes their IOSS number to StoreFeeder, which then passes it to the courier when you despatch. No configuration is required in StoreFeeder for these channels.

Compatible integrations and carriers

The following channels and couriers support IOSS in StoreFeeder:

Channels: eBay, Fruugo, CDiscount, Not On The High Street, Etsy, Amazon

Couriers: The Delivery Group, DHL Parcel UK, Norsk, ParcelHub, GLS Ireland, Royal Mail, DHL (Germany), FedEx, ParcelForce, Intersoft, Hermes

Webstore channels

For orders placed on your own website (Shopify, BigCommerce, Magento, and similar), IOSS is not mandatory. You can continue using DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) services. However, if your store collects EU VAT at checkout and you have your own IOSS number, you can configure StoreFeeder to include it when despatching.

StoreFeeder does not provide IOSS numbers. You need to apply for one separately.

Configuring StoreFeeder to send your IOSS number

  1. Add your IOSS number to your Company Identity. Open the Company Identity settings and enter your IOSS number in the designated field.

  1. Enable IOSS on your website channel. Open each website channel's settings and check the box confirming that the channel collects EU VAT and that you want to apply your IOSS number to applicable orders.

Once both steps are complete and you are using a compatible shipping service, StoreFeeder will include your IOSS number when despatching international orders.
