Amazon: 404 Default Backend error when reconnecting

Overview

This article covers the 404 Default Backend error that can appear when reconnecting your Amazon account to StoreFeeder after receiving an email asking you to renew your software application.

Cause

The error occurs during the authorisation flow when the existing developer token is no longer valid and needs to be replaced.

Solution

You need to authorise a new developer for StoreFeeder inside Amazon Seller Central.

  1. In Amazon Seller Central, go to Settings > User Permissions and scroll to Third Party Developer and Apps.
  2. Enter the following details in the corresponding fields:

    • Application Name: StoreFeeder
    • Developer Account Number for amazon.co.uk: 5314-6059-1309
    • Developer Account Number for amazon.com: 8273-3633-3402
    • Developer Account Number for amazon.com.au: 2349-1655-3614

  1. Complete the authorisation. You receive a list of your Marketplace IDs and your Seller ID, along with a new MWS authorisation token.

  1. In StoreFeeder, open your Amazon integration and paste your Seller ID and MWS authorisation token into the labelled fields, then save.
