Overview

This article explains how to set up and use trolley picking in the StoreFeeder app. Trolley picking associates a single physical trolley to a pickwave, giving better visibility of stock location during picking and allowing packers to open the correct pickwave simply by scanning the trolley.

Trolley picking requires a multi-stock location account. It is not available for single stock location accounts.

Setup

  1. Go to Warehouse > Stock Locations > Stock Location Overview and select + New Location.
  2. In the pop-up, add a new Trolley location and select Save.

The trolley location now appears in the Stock Location Overview.

  3. Create a barcode that reads Trolley 1 when scanned. A free barcode generator such as https://barcode.tec-it.com/en can be used for this.

  4. Attach the barcode to the appropriate trolley.
  5. Repeat for each additional trolley.

Adding a trolley before picking

  1. Create the pickwave as normal.
  2. Open the pickwave on the app to start picking.
  3. Before starting to pick, open the three-dot menu in the top right and select Add Trolley.

  6. You are returned to the first pick.

As the picker works through the pickwave, stock is transferred from each pick location to Trolley 1.

  1. Go to Warehouse > Despatch Order / Pickwave and scan the trolley barcode into the input box using a USB despatch scanner.

  2. The correct pickwave opens on the despatch page. The packer can now despatch the orders as normal.

  3. Once all orders are despatched, Trolley 1 becomes available for picking again.

Troubleshooting

If a picker tries to use Trolley 1 before all its orders are despatched, the following message appears on the PDA:
