Scanner Configuration - M3 Scanners

Overview

This article explains how to configure an M3 scanner for use with the StoreFeeder WMS app using the ScanEmul app. These steps are based on an M3 SM10 but may apply to other M3 models that use ScanEmul.

Before you begin

Ensure the ScanEmul app is installed on your device.

Configure ScanEmul

1. Open the ScanEmul app on the device.
2. Select the default profile, set Enabled to No, and go back.
3. Open the three-dot menu in the top right and add a new profile named StoreFeeder.

4. Select the new profile and configure the following settings:

   Setting	Value
   Associated Apps	StoreFeeder WMS (tick)
   Output Mode	None
   End Character	null
   Intent Output	Enabled
   Intent Action	com.sf.barcode.action
   Intent Category (if present)	com.sf.barcode.category
   Intent Delivery (if present)	Broadcast intent

Link the scanner to StoreFeeder

1. Open the StoreFeeder WMS app and go to Settings > On Device Scanner Configuration > I have updated the settings.
2. Select I'm ready to scan and scan barcode 12345678. A message at the bottom of the screen confirms Scanner configured successfully.

Troubleshooting

To verify the configuration, go to Products from the main menu and scan a barcode. The search field should populate and search automatically without you needing to tap the screen or press Search.
