Overview

This article explains how to configure a Zebra scanner for use with the StoreFeeder WMS app using the DataWedge app. These steps are based on a Zebra TC20 but may apply to other Zebra devices that include DataWedge.

Before you begin

Ensure DataWedge is installed on your device. Do not use the DWDemo app — its settings only affect the DWDemo profile, not the StoreFeeder WMS app.

Configure DataWedge

  1. Open the DataWedge app on the device.
  2. Edit the profile you are using. This may be the default Profile0 or a custom profile for the StoreFeeder WMS app.
  3. If you created a new profile for StoreFeeder, associate it with the app:

    • Select com.StoreFeeder.SFClassicMobileApp from the list.
    • When prompted for an activity, choose the asterisk (*) to select all activities.
    • Ensure any other profiles are disabled so they do not interfere.
  4. Confirm the profile is enabled at the top.
  5. Set the following options:

    Setting

    Value

    Keystroke output

    Disabled

    Intent output

    Enabled

    Intent action

    com.sf.barcode.action

    Intent category

    com.sf.barcode.category

    Intent delivery

    Broadcast intent

    Intent IP output

    Disabled

  1. Open the StoreFeeder WMS app and go to Settings > On Device Scanner Configuration > I have updated the settings.
  2. Select I'm ready to scan and scan barcode 12345678. A message at the bottom of the screen confirms Scanner configured successfully.

Troubleshooting

To verify the configuration, go to Products from the main menu and scan a barcode. The search field should populate and search automatically without you needing to tap the screen or press Search.
