Overview

This guide covers the two order functions in the StoreFeeder app: Order Validation and Quick Despatch.

Order Validation

Order Validation serves two purposes:

  1. Quality control — scan an order number and then scan all items to confirm the picked contents are correct. This is useful as an additional step between picking and packing, especially alongside a printed packing list.
  2. Barcode despatch — if you pick order by order and have pre-generated labels in StoreFeeder, you can use this function to print the shipping label and mark the order as despatched.

Scan the order number barcode printed on the packing list or invoice. The order screen opens.

Scan all items on the order — no need to pause between scans. If an incorrect item is scanned, a warning appears and the handset vibrates. As you scan, the validated quantity increments on screen. When all items are scanned, validation is complete and the shipping label prints (if pre-generated).

You are then asked whether to despatch the order.

Note: You cannot mark an order as despatched unless the label has been printed at this stage.

Serial numbers

If an order contains products that require serial numbers, this is displayed on the order screen:

When you scan the product or press the override button, the Serial Number Entry page opens. Scanning prompts you to enter one serial number; pressing override prompts you to enter all remaining serial numbers for that product.

Quick Despatch Orders

Quick Despatch is a fast way to print a shipping label and mark an order as despatched. Orders must have labels Pre-generated or be Pre-despatched.

Note: If the order requires serial numbers, you are redirected to the Order Validation page to enter them before despatching.

Scan or enter the order number, then tap Despatch. The order despatches and the label prints on the printer associated with the PDA.

Tips and page features

  • While scanning a multi-SKU order, SKUs move on screen between Validation Complete and Validation Outstanding sections.
  • If you scan or enter an order that is already verified, the screen shows who verified it and when.
  • If you cannot scan a barcode (damaged or missing), tap the validation status icon on the relevant SKU to override the scan.
  • To reprint a shipping label (for example, after a label jam), tap the three-dots menu in the top bar. You can also mark the order as despatched from there.
