Overview

This article explains how to configure barcode scanning on Opticon devices for use with the StoreFeeder WMS app. These steps were followed on an Opticon H31 but may apply to other models.

Before you begin

Ensure the StoreFeeder WMS app is installed on your Opticon device.

Configure the Opticon scanner

  1. Open the Settings app on the device and select Barcode Reader.

  2. Enable Read Options.

  3. Under Formatting, ensure the label prefix and suffix are empty and that Remove non printable characters is enabled.

  4. Enable Wedge options and set the following values:

    Setting

    Value

    Intent delivery mode

    Broadcast intent

    Intent package name

    com.StoreFeeder.SFClassicMobileApp

    Intent action

    com.sf.barcode.action

    Intent category

    com.sf.barcode.category

    Intent extra barcode data

    scannedbarcode (set this if the field has no value)

  5. Back out of the options to save them.
  1. Open the StoreFeeder WMS app and go to Settings > On Device Scanner Configuration > I have updated the settings.
  2. Select I'm ready to scan and scan barcode 12345678. A message at the bottom of the screen confirms Scanner configured successfully.

Troubleshooting

To verify the configuration, go to Products from the main menu and scan a barcode. The search field should populate and search automatically without you needing to tap the screen or press Search.
