Overview

This guide explains how to pick and despatch single orders in one operation using the StoreFeeder app, giving you the efficiency of order-by-order processing without losing barcode validation.

Before you begin

  • You must be running StoreFeeder Print Assist on the PC connected to your label printer.
  • The PDA must be on the same network as the host PC.
  • Associate the label printer to the PDA using the Print Assist Setup page at Settings > Printing > Print Assist Setup.

Processing pick and despatch in one operation

Step 1: Pre-generate labels for all orders

Before placing orders on pickwaves, pre-generate their shipping labels.

On the Orders page, filter the Order Flags column to Label Not Pre-generated and the Order Status column to Complete - Ready to Pick.

Select all orders in the grid, then from the dropdown actions menu select Pre-generate labels and click Confirm.

Step 2: Create pickwaves with one order each

Each pickwave must contain exactly one order, and the barcode validation method must be set to Location and Product Quantity. If either condition is not met, you will not be able to despatch at the end of the picking process.

Use the filters to display all the orders you want to process, select them all, then click Create Pickwave.

In the popup:

  1. Optionally allocate a picker, or leave blank to allow any picker to process the order.
  2. In Max Pickwave Size, enter 1.
  3. In Barcode Validation Type, select Location and Product Quantity.
  4. Click Create Pickwave.

You will now see multiple pickwaves created — one per order.

Tap the pickwave you want to process and, if prompted, tap Yes to assign it to yourself.

Scan the location barcode, then scan each item you need to pick from that location. Repeat for each pick location until all items are picked.

When you scan the final item, the app prompts you to despatch the order. Tap Yes.

The shipping label prints on the printer associated with the PDA, the order is marked as despatched in StoreFeeder, and the sales channel is updated.
