Overview
This guide explains how to use the Pickwaves function in the StoreFeeder app to pick orders with barcode validation.
How pickwaves work
The Pickwaves function replaces the paper-based picking system. It guides pickers around the warehouse in a logical order (based on your stock location order), indicating which location to visit and which product and quantity to pick.
You can set different verification levels for each pickwave to require barcode scanning of products and/or locations during picking. Where verification is required, the picker cannot advance to the next pick until the correct barcode is scanned.

Processing a pickwave
- Open the app and go to Pickwaves in the menu.
- Select a pickwave. If it is not already assigned to you, you are asked whether to assign it to yourself.
- Follow the on-screen instructions — go to the indicated location, scan the location barcode (if required), then scan or confirm each product.
- When all items are picked, the pickwave is complete.
Tips and page features
- Barcode Verification makes picking more accurate and removes the need for product knowledge.
- Logical walking route reduces travel time. (See Stock Location Order for how to configure this.)
- When the validation type is Location and Product Qty, the page auto-advances to the next pick as soon as the full quantity of a product is scanned.
- Stock Problem — multi-stock accounts can report stock problems and request alternative locations. See the Pickwave Stock Problem article for details.
- If you cannot scan a barcode, type a reason in the Note field to override the scan requirement.
- If you need to pick more than one unit of a product, the Pick Qty flashes green.
- The x of y indicator shows your progress through the pickwave.
- When starting a pickwave, you can choose to pick in reverse order (Z to A instead of A to Z) — useful when the start of the warehouse route is busy.

- The next location is shown beneath the Next button — useful when the next pick is adjacent to your current one.
- Pickers can claim unstarted pickwaves assigned to other pickers. Select a picker from the list to view their pickwaves, then tap one to reassign it to yourself.
