Scanner Configuration - Unitech Scanners

Overview

This guide explains how to configure Unitech scanners to work with the StoreFeeder WMS app. These instructions were written using a Unitech EA660 but should apply to all Unitech scanners.

Configuring the scanner

1. Open Settings on the device and go to Enterprise Features.

   

2. Open USS Profile Management.

   

3. Tap the + button at the bottom of the screen to create a new profile. Name it anything you like — StoreFeeder is a convenient choice.

   

4. Tap the profile to open its details page and ensure it is Enabled. Then tap App Associations.

   

5. Tap the + button to open the app list and select the StoreFeeder app.

   

6. Return to the profile details screen, go to App Settings, and apply the following settings exactly:

   • Scan to Key: disabled
   • Intent Convey: Broadcast
   • Intent Action: com.sf.barcode.action
   • Intent Category: com.sf.barcode.category
   • Intent Extra: clear any value

   

   

7. Return to the profile details screen, go to Append Settings, and ensure the Terminator value is empty. All other values can stay at their defaults.

   

Completing the setup in the app

Open the StoreFeeder WMS app and go to Menu > Settings > On Device Scanner Configuration > I have updated the settings.

Tap I'm ready to scan and scan the barcode 12345678. If successful, a message appears at the bottom of the screen: "Scanner configured successfully".

To verify, go to Products from the slide-in menu and scan a product barcode. The app should populate the search field and perform the search without you needing to tap the screen or tap Search.
