How to use the Product Import/Export Feature
Overview
This article explains how to use the Product Import/Export feature in StoreFeeder to export your product catalogue, create new products in bulk, and update existing products.
Go to Products > Product Import/Export to access this feature.

Exporting product information
- Go to the Export tab.
- Select the fields you want to export by ticking the boxes. Selecting Standard Fields exports all product information, excluding custom and variation attributes.
- Select Export to download the file.
You can also download a Blank Product Template — a spreadsheet with headers for the fields you have selected, with no data rows.

Creating new products by import
- Go to the Import (Create/New) tab.
- Select Select File... and choose your spreadsheet. Supported file types are .xlsx, .xls, and .csv.

- Map the spreadsheet columns to the matching fields in StoreFeeder. Fields that match exactly are mapped automatically.

- Some fields show a Create New Items option. When set to On, any value in that field that does not already exist in StoreFeeder is created automatically. This is useful when importing products with brands not yet in the system.

- Select Import to begin processing.
A message appears when the import is complete, indicating whether it was successful and listing any errors with line numbers.

Updating existing products by import
- Go to the Import (Update Existing) tab.
- Select Select File... and choose your spreadsheet. Supported file types are .xlsx, .xls, and .csv.

- Select the Key Field to match against. This must be a unique identifier — use either Item ID or SKU. You cannot update the field you are using as the key field.
- Map the remaining fields you want to update.
Set Skip Blank Fields:
- Yes — blank fields in the import file are skipped; existing values are preserved
- No — blank fields overwrite existing values with an empty value

If an Append New Records option appears, set it as needed:
- Yes — the new value is added alongside the existing value (for example, adding a second category without removing the first)
- No — the new value replaces the existing value
- Select Import to begin processing.
A message appears when the import is complete, indicating whether it was successful and listing any errors with line numbers.
