Overview

This article explains how to create a variant product in StoreFeeder that uses pre-existing simple products as its child variants.

Before you begin

Every variation listing requires a parent product that acts as a container for the individual simple products. You cannot convert a simple product directly into a parent variant product, but you can create a new parent and then link your existing simple products to it.

Creating the parent variant product

  1. Go to Products > Manage Products > + New Product.
  2. Enter a Product Name and Product SKU, then set the Product Type to Variation.
  3. Select the Attribute Set that differentiates your child products and choose a Default Value.
  4. Select Create.

Adding existing simple products as variants

  1. On the General tab, locate the Product Variants section.
  2. Select Add Existing Product and enter the Product SKU of the simple product you want to add.
  3. Select + Add Existing Product to link it to the variant.

Each variant in the list has two options:

  • Unlink — removes the child product from the variant without deleting it
  • Delete — removes the child product and permanently deletes it
