Discontinued & Archived Products
Overview
This article explains the difference between discontinuing and archiving products in StoreFeeder, and how to apply both actions individually or in bulk.
Understanding discontinuing and archiving
Discontinuing is used when you want to run down existing stock without placing new orders:
- Products still appear as In Stock
- Products do not appear on the Requisitions page
- Products do not appear on Purchase Orders for ordering
- Products still display on the app
- Products can still be added to orders and listings
Archiving is used for products you want to hide from active use, such as seasonal items or discontinued lines with zero stock:
- Products must be at 0 stock before archiving is allowed
- Products do not appear as In Stock
- Products do not appear on the Requisitions page
- Products do not appear on Purchase Orders for ordering
- Products do not display on the app
- Products cannot be added to orders, listings, or purchase orders
Discontinuing products individually
- Go to Products > Manage Products and select Edit for the product.
- On the Product Information page, select the Discontinue Product button.

- Select Okay to confirm.
A confirmation message appears when the product is discontinued:

And the following message appears when a product is reintroduced:

Archiving products individually
- Go to Products > Manage Products and locate the product you want to archive.
- Hover over the product row to reveal the Edit, Delete, and Archive options.

- Select Archive and confirm by selecting Okay.
Alternatively, open the product and select the Archive Product button on the Product Information page:

A confirmation message appears when archiving is successful:

And the following message appears when a product is unarchived:

If a product is already archived, the button changes to Unarchive Product.
Discontinuing or archiving products in bulk
- On the Manage Products page, tick the checkbox next to each product you want to action.
- Open the drop-down above the column titles and select Archive, Discontinue, Reintroduce, or Unarchive.

The selected action is applied to all chosen products.

Filtering for discontinued and archived products
On the Manage Products page, the Discontinued and Archived columns are typically the rightmost columns. If they are not visible, use the filter tools icon to enable them.

Select the checkbox for the column and choose from:
- No — Discontinued/Archived products are not shown
- Yes — Only Discontinued/Archived products are shown
- All — All products are shown
