My Shopify Orders are Downloading without the Name and Address

Overview

This article explains why Shopify orders may download into StoreFeeder without a name or address, and how to resolve it.

Cause

Shopify introduced changes to their API regarding personally identifiable information (PII). They now have four payment tiers:

• Basic
• Grow
• Advanced
• Plus

Any Shopify store on the Basic plan cannot access PII data, including name, address, email, and phone number. StoreFeeder can still see that an order has been placed and access product data, but cannot retrieve the customer's name or address.

Shopify stores opened before March 2024 still have access to this data, but this may change.

Fix

Upgrade your Shopify plan to Grow, Advanced, Plus, or higher. Once upgraded, StoreFeeder will be able to access your full order data and import orders as expected.
