Overview
This guide covers how to create a BigCommerce listing for a variation product in StoreFeeder.
Before you begin
You need an existing product created in StoreFeeder before you can create a listing. You can create simple products or variation products from the Products section.
Creating a BigCommerce variant listing
- Open your product in StoreFeeder and select Listings from the left-hand menu. Select the green New Listing button.

- Select your BigCommerce channel from the list.

- The Listing Details page opens. The SKU, Product Name, Price, Brand, and RRP are pre-filled from your product. Fill in any remaining fields and select the Meta & Keywords tab.

Additional fields on this page:
- Sale Price — If the item is on sale, enter the sale price here.
- Cost Price — For reference only; not visible on the listing.
- Tax Class — The tax class ID from BigCommerce. Tax classes must be set up in BigCommerce first.
- Identifier — The product barcode. Auto-filled if a barcode exists on the product.
- Avalara Product Code — AvaTax system codes for special sales tax categories.
- Max Inventory — Maximum stock shown on the listing regardless of actual inventory in StoreFeeder.
- Availability — Controls listing visibility: visible, pre-sale, or unavailable.
- Availability Description — Shown on the checkout page to indicate dispatch time.
- Oversell — Allows the listing to stay live past zero inventory.
- Free Shipping — Sets the listing to offer free shipping.
- Fixed Shipping Cost — Overrides the standard shipping cost calculation.
- Keep Listing URL — When set to On, retains the last URL generated by BigCommerce.
- Is Featured — When set to On, displays the listing in the featured products section.
Inventory type settings
- Inventory + Oversell — Uses product inventory plus oversell amount.
- Inventory + Oversell + Priority Supplier Inventory — Adds the priority supplier's inventory.
- Inventory + Oversell + Sum Of Suppliers Inventory — Adds all supplier inventory.
You can set what percentage of the selected inventory type to use.
You do not need to select Save & Upload when moving between listing tabs.
- On the Meta & Keywords tab, set meta keywords, meta description, page title, and search keywords. When adding keywords, type the keyword followed by a comma and a space.
- Select the Variants tab.

- Set the attribute value names for each variant attribute set (for example, Size and Colour). Select the attribute name from the drop-down menu. Attribute sets must be created on your BigCommerce website before they can be added to the listing.
- Select Edit Images to assign images to specific variants and set a main listing image.

- Select the Categories tab.

- Set the BigCommerce categories for the listing. You can assign multiple categories per listing. Categories must be created on BigCommerce and imported into StoreFeeder from your BigCommerce integration settings page.
- Select the Description tab.

- Enter a description for the listing. If your product already has a description in StoreFeeder, it is pre-filled here but can be edited.
- To upload immediately, select Save and Upload. To process in the background while you continue working, select Save and Queue For Upload.
