Creating a Shopify Listing
Overview
This guide covers how to create a Shopify listing in StoreFeeder for a product you have already set up.
Before you begin
You will need an existing product in StoreFeeder before creating a listing. You can create simple products, variation products, or kit products from the Products section.
Creating a Shopify listing
- Open the product you want to list and select the Listings tab on the left-hand side.
- Select the New Listing button.

- From the pop-up, select your Shopify integration.

The Shopify listing page opens. StoreFeeder pre-fills some fields from your product; you can change these without affecting the product itself.

Key fields on the listing:
- Title — The listing title. Defaults to your product name.
- Meta Title — Used in the page URL; acts as a name tag for the web page.
- Shopify Product ID — The internal Shopify ID. Leave blank for new listings.
- Published — Controls whether the listing is visible on your Shopify store.
- SKU — Auto-filled from your product SKU.
- Price — The price charged on Shopify. Does not affect the product price in StoreFeeder.
- Compare At Price — Displays an RRP above your actual price.
- Product Tax — Whether to charge tax. If left blank, the Shopify default is used.
- Max Inventory — The maximum stock quantity a customer sees, regardless of actual inventory.
- Oversell — Allows the listing to continue selling past zero inventory, up to the value entered.
- Out Of Stock Threshold — Reserves stock so it cannot be oversold on this listing.
- Weight (kg) — Product weight, transferred to Shopify.
- Barcode — Generates a barcode for the listed product.
- Product Type — A category for organising products in Shopify.
- Product Vendor — Manufacturer or wholesaler; not visible to customers.
- Shopify Categories (Collections) — Groups similar products into collections.
- Shopify Tags — Searchable keywords that help customers find your product.
Inventory type settings
You can set where the listing's inventory comes from and what percentage is applied.

- Inventory + Oversell — Uses product inventory plus oversell amount.
- Inventory + Oversell + Priority Supplier Inventory — Adds the priority supplier's inventory on top.
- Inventory + Oversell + Sum Of Suppliers Inventory — Adds all supplier inventory on top.
You can also set a percentage of the selected inventory type to use.
Description
The Description tab lets you add product information and HTML formatting. If your product already has a description, this field is pre-filled.

Images
The Images tab shows all images assigned to your product. Select the order you want them displayed and deselect any you do not want to appear. Greyed-out images will not show on the listing.

Saving and uploading
Once you have filled in the listing details, you have three options:
- Save Without Uploading — Saves the listing but does not send it to Shopify. Useful if you want to complete it later.
- Save and Upload — Saves and uploads the listing immediately. This can take 3–4 minutes depending on the listing size.
- Save and Queue For Upload — Saves and queues the listing for upload within an hour. Useful when creating or editing multiple listings at once.
If you receive an error on upload, check that all required fields are filled in. An error message at the top of the page will identify any missing or invalid fields.
