Why is the wrong item on my order?

Overview
This article explains why the wrong item might appear on an order in StoreFeeder and how the listing-matching process works.
Cause
When a listing is not explicitly mapped, StoreFeeder attempts to identify the correct product automatically using the following methods, in order:
- Find a mapped listing using the same Listing SKU received on the order.
- Find a mapped listing using the same Item ID received on the order.
- Find a product using the SKU received on the order.
- Find a product using the EAN/barcode received on the order.
In most cases this finds the correct product. However, if listing details have changed on the channel — for example if a SKU or EAN has been reused for a different product — the wrong item may be added to the order.
Fix
To prevent this from happening:
- Map your listings explicitly in StoreFeeder rather than relying on automatic matching.
- Ensure that SKUs and EANs on your channels are unique and have not been reused for different products.
- If an order already has the wrong item, edit the order in StoreFeeder to correct the line items before picking.
