Listing Amazon Clothing
Overview
This article explains the specific attributes required to list clothing products on Amazon and how to handle common issues.
Before you begin
Ensure your parent and child variant products are already created in StoreFeeder before listing to Amazon.
Configure the parent listing
On the parent listing, fill in these attributes only:
- Age Range Description โ use lowercase only (e.g.
adult, child). Amazon is case-sensitive and rejects capitalised values. - Clothing Type
- Department
- Target Gender
Do not fill in any other apparel attribute fields (such as Apparel Body Type or Apparel Size Class) on the parent listing. Amazon rejects these on parent SKUs and causes the entire listing to fail.
Configure child variant attributes
Go to the Variations tab on the listing and select the cog icon next to the variant you want to configure.

Enable each attribute by selecting its checkbox. Note: the Variations tab only appears after the listing has been saved at least once. If you are creating a new listing, use Save Without Upload first, then return to add the apparel attributes.
The required fields vary by clothing type:
Generic clothing (e.g. Outerwear)
- Apparel Size Class
- Apparel Size
These two fields are linked: if you select a Size Class of "alpha", use a size like S, M, or L. If you select "numeric", use a numbered size.
Items with a size range (e.g. socks sized 6โ8)
- Apparel Size (start of range, e.g. 6)
- Apparel Size To (end of range, e.g. 8)
Troubleshooting
If the listing fails to upload, check the Submission tab for the error message. If the error indicates Apparel Height Type or Apparel Body Type are missing, add those fields and try again. Do not fill them in by default as they more often cause errors than resolve them.
