This article explains the "improper words" error returned by eBay when attempting to upload or update a listing, and how to resolve it.

Cause

eBay returns the following error when your listing title or description may contain wording that violates an eBay policy:

Failed to upload/update listing on channel eBay UK Errors: The item cannot be listed or modified. The title or description may contain improper words, or the listing or seller may be in violation of eBay policy.

Fix

1. Review your listing title and description for wording that could be considered inappropriate or in breach of eBay policy, and rephrase as needed.
2. If no obvious wording stands out, temporarily remove most of the title and description and attempt to upload again.
