Configure Ship by Dates for all channels

We’ve introduced a new feature that allows you to define a default handling time (in days) for each sales channel.

Currently Amazon sends us a 'ship-by date' when it sends us the order, but this new enhancement ensures that ship-by dates can now be automatically calculated even when the channel does not explicitly provide one.

With this update, you can now set a specific number of handling days on your channel settings, giving you greater control and consistency over order fulfilment timelines.

When an order is received without a ship-by date from the channel, the system will automatically apply the configured handling time to determine an appropriate ship-by deadline.

This helps prevent delays, improves operational planning, and ensures that your shipping commitments are met more reliably across all channels.

Step 1: Setting a handling time manually

  • Go to 'Settings'
  • Select a non-Amazon channel. (Amazon brings in a ship-by date automatically)
  • Under the 'Order Processing' section, locate the 'Handling Time in Days' field.

  • Enter a 'positive whole number' representing the number of days needed to despatch an order.
  • Click 'Save'.

The handling time is now saved.

Note If you enter a negative number or non-numeric value, the field will be marked as invalid and you won’t be able to save the settings until the input is corrected.

If no handling time is configured, and the channel provides no ship-by date, then the order’s ship-by date will be left blank

How it works

If a channel has 'Handling Time in Days = 2', imported orders will have a 'calculated ship-by date' order date + 2 days.

Example - Order imports on 15th April, 'calculated ship by date' will be 17th April.

This will be displayed in the 'Order Process Details' section of the order (in V2).

and in the 'Order Details' section in V3.

You can also see the 'Ship-By Date' in the 'Create Pickwave' page and this can be used to sort and filter when creating pickwaves.

How to clear the handling time

To remove a previously set handling time:

  • Go to the 'Settings page.
  • Select the channel.
  • Under the 'Order Processing' section, locate the 'Handling Time in Days' field.
  • Delete the number.
  • Click 'Save'.
