Scanner Configuration - Zebra Scanners
The Zebra scanners can be configured via the DataWedge app installed by the manufacturer.
The settings are detailed in this video, go back into the StoreFeeder WMS app once set and perform a barcode scan.
This video is for a Zebra TC20 but may be applicable for other Zebra devices that have the DataWedge app.
On the device open app DataWedge (Note: DataWedge gives access to all profiles on the device. Do not use the DWDemo app where the Settings option only allows you to edit the DWDemo profile which is not used by the StoreFeeder WMS app)
Edit the profile. You may be using the Profile0 default profile, or have created a new one just for use with the StoreFeeder WMS app.
If you have created a new profile specific for StoreFeeder you have to associate the profile to the app. The StoreFeeder app is com.StoreFeeder.SFClassicMobileApp in the list of possible associations. You are then asked to link to an activity, choose the top option of an asterisk which selects all activities.
If you have created a new profile you may have to ensure other profiles are not enabled
The following settings control how the barcode scans are received by the StoreFeeder app.
The profile must be enabled at the top
Keystroke output should be set to disabled Intent output must be enabled Intent action should be "com.sf.barcode.action" Intent category should be "com.sf.barcode.category" Intent delivery should be broadcast intent Intent IP output is disabled
Go back into the StoreFeeder WMS app.
From the slide in menu select Settings -> On Device Scanner Configuration -> I have updated the settings.
Click "I'm ready to scan" and scan barcode 12345678. If successful a message will appear at the bottom of the screen "Scanner configured successfully".
An ideal test is to go to Products from the slide in main menu and scan a barcode. You should not have to touch the screen or click Search. The barcode scan will populate the search field and perform the search.
