Scanner Configuration - Newland Scanners

These instructions were followed on a Newland MT90 but may be appropriate for other models.

Follow the details below to set the required scanner settings and then return to the StoreFeeder WMS app to complete the scanner configuration setup.

To change the settings on the device click the Quick Settings app link:

An alternative on some devices is to access this via the Settings app (usually a cog icon) then select Extend Settings then Scan Settings. (For more info see the manufacturer device manual - external link Newland User Manual)

Change the values in Output Mode, Broadcast-output Settings and Suffix and Prefix

Output Mode:

Broadcast-output Settings:

Broadcast action should be com.sf.barcode.action

Prefix & Suffix (should be empty)

Back out of the screen to ensure the values are set and saved.

Go back into the StoreFeeder WMS app.

From the slide in menu select Settings -> On Device Scanner Configuration -> I have updated the settings.

Click "I'm ready to scan" and scan barcode 12345678. If successful a message will appear at the bottom of the screen "Scanner configured successfully".

An ideal test is to go to Products from the slide in main menu and scan a barcode. You should not have to touch the screen or click Search. The barcode scan will populate the search field and perform the search.

If a certain type of barcode is not scanning then check the Symbologies option under the device Settings. Ensure each relevant type of barcode is ticked.
